The civic tower

The medieval civic tower of Potenza Picena was rebuilt in the 18th century; the work began on June 10, 1732, with the solemn ceremony of laying the first stone. More slender than the current one, it was equipped with a spire on which the architect Pietro Augustoni worked towards the end of the eighteenth century. However, it was struck by lightning and therefore rebuilt again in 1886, based on a design by the Ancona-based engineer Gustavo Bevilacqua.
