The Municipal Theatre "Bruno Mugellini" of Potenza Picena

Set within the historic Town Hall, the Bruno Mugellini Theatre is an authentic architectural jewel, a 99-seat "jewel box" that testifies to the vibrant cultural life of Potenza Picena between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Designed by the architect from Recanati Giuseppe Brandoni, the theatre was named after the celebrated pianist and composer Bruno Mugellini, an illustrious citizen of Potenza Picena, forever linking his name to that of his hometown and to great music.

The theatre features a classic and elegant horseshoe-shaped layout, overlooked by three tiers of boxes, each finished with different decorations that enhance its harmony. What particularly captures the eye is the splendid ceiling, a riot of colors dominated by a large central rosette. Around it, an ornamental band in Greek style with mythological figures and refined painted sails with floral and faunal motifs give the space an intimate and precious atmosphere.

Beyond its undeniable beauty, the Mugellini Theatre houses an ancient and valuable curtain dedicated to the goddess Minerva, protector of the arts, rediscovered after years of abandonment and magnificently restored. Today, this intimate space with perfect acoustics is not only a monument to admire, but a living stage that continues to host shows, concerts and cultural events, confirming itself as one of the beating hearts of the artistic and social life of the Potenza Picena community.
